Kapua Kaizi Gucheng, Kapua being his indigenous Torres Strait Island given name and Kaizi being his nickname, has been passed the knowledge of making Coconut Oil the traditional way by his mother. She had in turn been taught by her Grandparents, her Grandfather from the Philippines, Ilo Ilo Province and her Grandmother, a native woman from Murray Island in the Torres Straits. It has always been Kaizi’s hope to be able to pass on his family’s knowledge of THE true value of coconuts AND their versatility. With support from a Regional Indigenous Development Program, Kaizi’s products are made from hand-picked Coconuts collected from the Far North Queensland coastline, thereby the production of oil has grown from a cottage hobby to a commercial venture.
