It will commence in February 2010 and end by April 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Project Description:-<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The project will build an alternative tourism theme for the region, based on tropical agri-food experiences, long term strategic approach, with a clearly targeted action plan to assist existing businesses to adapt, and new enterprises to emerge. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">This project will provide the framework for a complimentary product and experience cluster to establish over time, preparing the region for the anticipated impact of climate change on the reef and dispersing visitation into the broader region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Funding will be used for research, developing action plans to implement the food strategy; building capacity; developing and delivering a regional food brand and marketing strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u00a0<strong>Activities of the Project include:-<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Further workshop development of the Agri-Tourism Industry by Southern Cross University<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Branding the region\u2019s food &amp; wine products<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Accreditation of Products<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 SME Skills Training<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GPS Food Trail Maps<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Paddock to Plate development<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Major Food &amp; Wine Event<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trade Show Opportunities<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Media Coverage<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 TQ &amp; TTNQ\u00a0 Marketing Support<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">For more information: contact Nola Craig\u00a0\u00a0 T: 0409 593 958<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In December 2009, The Australian Government Department of Resources, Engergy and Tourism announced a successful \u00a0TQUAL grant of over $440,000 for the\u00a0Cairns region.
